IRVINE, Calif.--Â The Intercollegiate Tennis Association honored the top academic tennis players in the country Monday which included a host of Anteaters among their academic awards.
UC Irvine was one of 255 women's tennis programs that were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction, and it's a seventh straight year they've claimed the honor. To be eligible, all varsity letterwinners must have combined for a minimum 3.2 team grade-point average during the 2023-24 academic year.
Seven Anteaters earned Scholar Athlete distinction –Â
Asha Gidwani,
Mikaela Hinton,
Haily Huynh,
Kayla Meraz,
Jenna Schlatter,
Mia Totah, and
Cydney Yamamoto - marking the seventh time the program has honored at least five members. Totah has been named to the list three consecutive times while Gidwani, Hinton, Huynh, Meraz, and Yamamoto earned the honor for the second straight year. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must carry a minimum 3.5 GPA for the 2023-24 academic year.
