Crawford Hall Renovation Complete

| By:

IRVINE, Calif. – One of UC Irvine's original athletic facilities, Crawford Hall, just completed a renovation.

The floor, which was part of the original construction of the building in 1963, was replaced with a brand-new playing surface that now mirrors the Bren Events Center court.

Crawford Hall has been the site of several memorable moments in UCI history. Men's basketball player Kevin Magee made his mark there as well as being the site for a number of volleyball upsets. Most recently, women's volleyball upset No. 25 UC Santa Barbara last October, the Gauchos' only Big West loss.

"Crawford looks great," women's volleyball head coach Ashlie Hain said. "It's fun to play in a historic building. It's an intimate environment that gets very loud and is definitely a home court advantage."
