Six UCI Teams Achieve Perfect Multi-Year APR Scores

IRVINE, Calif. - The NCAA has released its latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) and once again all of UC Irvine's athletic programs easily surpassed the minimum multi-year requirement of 930.

UCI had a Big West-leading six teams record a perfect score of 1,000 including women's basketball, men's cross country, women's cross country, women's golf, women's tennis and women's track & field.

Women's water polo, men's golf and men's basketball were also at or above 990, while baseball, men's water polo, men's soccer and women's soccer were at or above 980.

Each of the Anteaters' 18 sports featured in the annual report (represented by 17 scores with women's indoor and outdoor track & field counting as one) had multi-year scores of 970 or better. Ten teams were at or above the national average of 984.

The current APR scores reflect rates from the 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years.

The APR creates a real-time look at a team's academic success by tracking the progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. It accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation, and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.
