IRVINE, Calif. – Four UC Irvine women's water polo players earned All-Big West honors, the conference office announced Friday morning.

Freshman Lauren Hett leads the way as she garnered Freshman of the Year honors, the first Anteater to do so since Isabel Rack in 2018 and is just the sixth to be named to the award in program history.

Libby Alexander headlined the All-Big West First Team for UC Irvine. Alexander holds the top spot for the Anteaters in goals (43) and points (59) and shot a shocking 0.538 clip. The junior posted a career high four goals three times this season, the last a perfect 4-4 at the cage in the 11-9 winning effort over UC Davis on Apr. 7.

Hett was also placed onto both the All-Big West Second Team and All-Big West Freshman Team. The rookie finished the year second on the squad in field blocks (10), goals (40), points (53), and third in steals (25). Hett was named the league's Player of the Week on Apr. 3 after a six-goal week. The Orinda native played an instrumental role in UCI's 14-13 overtime victory at Long Beach State where she scored five of the last six Anteater goals, including the game winner.

A stalwart in the cage, Faith Tedesco tallied All-Big West Honorable Mention nods for her second career postseason honor.

Tedesco completed the 2024 campaign with 180 saves, good for tenth in program history for saves in a season. Additionally, the senior etched her name in the record book on Apr. 18 with 19 saves over Long Beach State, one shy of tying the school record set by Lauren Machanis set in March 2006. Tedesco was named the Big West Player of the Week heading into the Big West Championship for her effort in goal against The Beach.

Annabelle Mundelius joins Hett on the All-Big West Freshman Team. Mundelius recorded 26 points with 14 goals and 12 assists in her rookie year as an Anteater.

UC Irvine has now had four or more honorees on the All-Big West team in all 15 seasons they've been recognized.
