DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's tennis team swept UC Davis, 4-0, in its Big West opener Wednesday at Marya Welch Tennis Center.

The Anteaters improved to 11-5 overall and are 1-0 in conference, while they handed the Aggies (10-6, 2-1 Big West) their first Big West loss of the season.

UCD took the early advantage in doubles with a win at No. 2. Noah Zamora and Rahul Dhokia then evened the playing field with a 6-3 victory over Lucas Bollinger/Max Fardanesh at the top of the lineup.

The deciding match came down to court three where Matthew Sah and Brandon Park secured the point in a tiebreaker as they prevailed over Sam De Vries/Eduardo Gonzalez, 7-6 (5).

UCI won three hard-fought singles matches to clinch its seventh-straight victory against UC Davis. At No. 4, Rithvik Krishna came up short in the first set but was dominant in the next two as he defeated Fardanesh, 2-6, 6-0, 6-1.
