
Johnson Named Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week

IRVINE, Calif. - Junior Reyna Johnson has been named The Big West Women's Field Athlete of the Week the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Johnson was recognized after winning the long jump with a personal and meet-record 6.14 meters (20-1.75) at the Vince O'Boyle Classic. At the conclusion of Flight 2, Johnson was ninth overall before climbing to the top of the leaderboard after her PR in the second round of the finals.

Johnson's mark is third in school history. She also ranks first in The Big West, 23rd in the West Region and 41st in the nation.

Johnson added a third-place showing in the 100m hurdles with a season-best 14.07, and ran the opening leg of UCI's runner-up 4x100 relay that clocked a season-best 45.73.

This is the first career weekly award for Johnson and second for the Anteater women this season.
