Sor Tops UC Irvine At Big West Championships

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Freshman Alyson Sor climbed 11 spots on the final round to finish in 12th place at the Big West Championships which concluded Tuesday at the Spanish Trail Country Club.
Sor shot even-par 72 on the final round to finish tied for 12th overall. She lead the team with a 54-hole score of 227 (77-78-72), including the team-low 72. She had 14 pars on the final round and a birdie on both the front and back nine. She was tied for second in Par 5 scoring at 4.83 (-2) among the tournament field.
Junior Charlotte Ryoo, who had a team-best six birdies for the tournament, improved each day and moved up five spots after a four-over par 76 on the final round. She ended with a score of 234 (81-77-76) to place tied for 25th.
Sophomores Jasmine Chen finished in a tie for 29th with a total of 235 (81-75-79) followed by sophomore Kiana Briggs who was tied for 31st with a score of 236 (81-76-79) and senior Megan Yang with a 242 (80-82-80) for 41st place.
The Anteaters finshed eighth with a three-day score of 931 (319-306-306), posting 159 pars, which was fourth best among the tournament teams and recorded 18 birdies overall.
