LAS VEGAS, Nevada – UC Irvine shot an opening round 319 at the Big West Championships held at the Spanish Trail Country Club. The Anteaters had four birdies Sunday and are in eighth place after the first 18 holes.

Freshman Alyson Sor leads UCI with a score of 77. She is tied for 19^th place after logging 11 pars and a birdie in her first championship outing.

Senior Megan Yang is tied for 29^th with a score of 80 followed by sophomores Kiana Briggs and Jasmine Chen and junior Charlotte Ryoo with a score of 81 which is tied for 33^rd. Yang led the squad with two birdies.

The Anteaters will be back in action tomorrow for the second round beginning at 8:30 a.m.
