IRVINE, Calif.— The Anteaters return to action for the first time in 16 days to close out the home portion of the regular season schedule with two matches against No. 53 UC Santa Barbara (Apr. 14) and Cal Poly (Apr. 15).

After the match against the Gauchos, the women's tennis team will honor three seniors,
Jenna Schlatter,
Emily Fowler, and
Mia Totah, for their time with the program. For the senior day festivities, Sgt. Pepperoni's will be provided for fans in attendance along with three gift card giveaways to In-N-Out will be done between the doubles and singles intermission.

- UCI last played on Mar. 24 where they fell to CSUN at home, 5-2, before taking a 4-1 victory from Fairleigh Dickinson on the road

- The Anteaters were down 1-0 in doubles before evening the doubles portion with a 6-4 win from Carolyna Fowler and Haily Huynh on court two
- CSUN went on to win at the No. 2 singles spot, but Jenna Schlatter fought for a 6-2, 6-4 victory at the No. 1 position to bring UC Irvine within one point, 2-1
- Haily Huynh, at the No. 4 spot, earned the Anteaters second point of the match. Huynh won the first set, 6-4, before digging deep to come out on top in the second set, 7-5
- At FDU…
- Due to the threat of inclement weather, the match was started with the six singles matches in hopes that the sky would remain clear to complete doubles. Only five individual competitions were finished out as the rain rolled in
- Graduate student Jenna Schlatter was first on the board with her No. 1 singles win. Schlatter went 6-2 in the first set and then did not drop a game in her second match, 6-0
- Haily Huynh pushed the Anteater advantage with her victory at No. 5, 6-3, 6-1
- Sophomore Larissa Teramura pushed UCI's lead back to two with two 6-4 wins at the No. 6 spot
- Amanda Perez, who was slated at the No. 2 spot, came back from behind to make it a close first set loss before rattling off two wins to clinch the match for UC Irvine, 4-1
- The Anteaters look to snap their losing streaks against UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly despite leading the all-time series 16-11 and 17-10, respectively
Scouting No. 53 UC Santa Barbara
No. 53 UC Santa Barbara is 8-7 on the year and 3-0 in the Big West riding a three-match win streak. The Gauchos will face both UC San Diego and Cal State Fullerton before taking on the Anteaters.
No. 43 ranked Amelia Honer holds a dominant 12-2 record at the No. 1 singles spot, has won her last eight matches, and is 4-2 against national competition. Camille Kiss also holds double digit wins in singles action with her 10-5 overall record and 9-5 at the No. 2 position.

Honer teams up with Kira Reuter at the No. 1 position in doubles action where they keep a 7-2 record to rank 35th in the nation as a pair.

Scouting Cal Poly
Cal Poly enters the weekend with an 8-7 record, 3-2 in the Big West, and play at Orange County rival Cal State Fullerton just a few days prior (Apr. 12). The Mustangs split their last time out with a 4-3 loss to Long Beach State before defeating Hawai'i, 5-2.
Romane Mosse leads Cal Poly with 11 victories in singles action. Mosse is a perfect 7-0 at the No. 5 position to go along with her eight-game win streak. Next, Alexandra Ozerets is 10-5 in individual play with at least two wins from the No.3-6 spots.

The sister duo of Delanie Dunkle and Peyton Dunkle hold down the No. 1 slot with their 11-3 overall record and are 4-1 against Big West opponents.
