FULLERTON, Calif. - UC Irvine women's track & field claimed runner-up honors at the Challenge Cup Friday at Titan Track Complex.

The Anteaters finished with 179.5 points to come in behind Long Beach State (191.5).

Deandra Tyler remained unbeaten in the shot put where she picked up her third-straight individual victory. Tyler won the event at 14.86m (48-9). Nyla Baker also took third with a toss of 13.23m (43-5).

In the hammer, Tyler was the runner-up with a personal-record 54.61m (179-2), improving on her No. 6 mark in program history. DeAna Davis was just shy of her PR, with a best of 53.24m (174-8) to place third overall.

Nyla Baker topped the field in the discus, winning the competition at 46.65m (153-0).

Jolie Robinson registered a lifetime-best 42.78m (140-4) to finish second in the javelin. Robinson is now tied for sixth in school history.

Reyna Johnson won the long jump in her outdoor season debut (5.91m/19-4.75). Kailah McKenzie was the runner-up with a season-best 5.79m (19-0) to move into a tie for 10th among the Anteaters' all-time leaders.

In the pole vault, Alana Sugue cleared 3.57m (11-8.5) to place fourth overall and land at No. 7 in program history.

On the track, Malia Gay was first across the finish line in the 800m with a time of 2:10.59. Alexis Alexander added a top-three showing (2:14.26).

Montgomery Allison clocked a season-best 11:15.27 to come in second in the steeplechase, while Kaia Schmidt was third in the 1500m (4:40.72).

Hallena Sutherland led a trio of 'Eaters in the 100m with a season-best 12.01 (3rd). Jazzmine Davis (100H, 14.06) and Tea Akiaten (3000m, 10:25.10) also took third in their respective events. Samantha Bartz added a season-best 25.19 in the 200m.

Davis, Mia Marquez, Alexander and Lauren Aquino closed out the meet with a season-best 3:51.57 in the 4x400 relay.
