PALM DESERT, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's golf team finished 11th overall at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate that concluded with the final round Thursday at the Classic Club.

The Anteaters carded a 293 to finish with a 54-hole score of 879Â (290-296-293).Â

Cal State Fullerton came from three spots back to claim the team title by one stroke over Grand Canyon at 16-under 848 (285-286-277). The Titans' Teagan Andrews was also the individual medalist at 10-under 206 (70-69-67).

Darien Zhao led the 'Eaters on day three as he fired three birdies to come in at 2-under 70. He continued to climb the leaderboard, jumping 28 spots in the standings to tie for 56th with a total of 223 (80-73-70).

Jin Nakao tied for 41st with a three-round score of 221 (70-75-76), while
Yaoting Zou (76-76-73) and
Rei Harashima (73-73-78) tied for 60th at 224.
Jason Tang (226) rounded out UCI's lineup in a tie for 69th. Â

UC Irvine has a quick turnaround as it will co-host the Vanharte Orange County Collegiate Classic, Feb. 12-13, at Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point.
