Box Score DAVIS, Calif. – UC Irvine battled in a tight Big West contest with UC Davis where they fell 4-3 to the Aggies.

The doubles pairings of Kayla Meraz/Jenna Schlatter earned the doubles victory handily at the No. 2 position, 6-1, but UCD won the matches at No. 1 and No. 3 to clinch the doubles point.
 
After the Aggies won their second point of the match at No. 1 doubles, UC Irvine won three straight individual points a No. 5, No. 6, and No. 4, respectively, to go ahead 3-2 in the contest.
 
Both Haily Huynh (No. 5) and Larissa Teramura (No. 6) came away with their individual victories in two sets, but Amanda Perez (No. 4) forced three sets and won the last two straight to get the point.
 
The match then came down to the decisions on court two and three. Both Meraz (No. 2) and Asha Gidwani (No. 3) lost their first sets but bounced back for set two wins. The remaining set on each court went to the 7-6 extra points where UC Davis was able to win both to clinch the match, 4-3.
