Second Round of OC Collegiate Classic Suspended Due to Darkness

DANA POINT, Calif. - The second round of the Vanharte Orange County Collegiate Classic was suspended due to darkness Monday at Monarch Beach Golf Links.
 
Through 18 holes, UC Irvine men's golf was fourth at 1-under 279. CSUN (273) held an early four-stroke lead over Cal State Fullerton and Sacramento State, who were tied for second. The Matadors' Felix Schrott had the best score of the first round at 6-under 64.
 
Sophomore Rei Harashima led the Anteaters as he fired a season-best 3-under 67 to tie for fourth. Harashima had five birdies for his first sub-70 score of the year.
 
Sophomore Yaoting Zou also found himself in the top-20 after carding an even-par 70 in the opening round.
 
Sophomore Jin Nakao and freshman Jason Tang tied for 26th with an 18-hole score of 71 (+1), while senior Darien Zhao tied for 41st with a 73 (+3). Tang completed his second round where he registered a 1-under 69. He had four birdies and eagled the par-5, 512-yard ninth hole.
 
Junior Kevin McGough made his season debut as an individual and sat in a tie for 34th at 2-over 72. McGough then posted his first sub-70 score as an Anteater, coming in at 2-under 68 in the second round.
 
The second round of the Vanharte Orange County Classic will resume tomorrow at 7:15 a.m. The final round will then begin at 8:30 a.m.
