Zamora Comes in at No. 31 in Latest ITA Rankings

IRVINE, Calif. - After an impressive fall tournament season, UC Irvine senior Noah Zamora has landed at No. 31 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's NCAA Division I Men's Singles Rankings released earlier this week.

It is a career-high ranking for Zamora, who was 121st on the preseason list. In November, the San Diego native became the first Anteater to compete in the NCAA Singles Championships since 2011 and the first to advance in the tournament since 1989 as he upset No. 13 Sebastian Dominko of Notre Dame in the Round of 64.

Zamora qualified for the NCAA tournament as a finalist at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships (Oct. 17-22). He won his first five matches including a victory over No. 109 Casper Christensen of Arizona in the quarterfinals. Zamora then took down UCLA's Emon Van Loben Sels, 6-2, 6-1, in the semifinals to punch his NCAA ticket.

Zamora had his first ranked win of the season at the ITA All-American Championships in September where he defeated No. 64 Miguel Perez Pena of Georgia, 7-5, 6-3, in the main draw.

Zamora finished the fall season with an 8-4 record. He went 3-3 against ranked opponents.
