LONG BEACH, Calif. – UC Irvine collected two individual wins and two doubles victories in the second day of the Beach Fall Invitational.
 
With a 6-0, 6-4 victory in the morning round of 16 singles play, Kayla Meraz moved onto the quarterfinals in the championship bracket. She saw her championship run end in the afternoon match as she fell to UC San Diego's Julia Haynes, 6-0, 6-4.
 
Junior Haily Huynh battled hard in a two-set match, taking down Eliza Bates of Cal Poly, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3).
 
In doubles play, freshmen Maily Huynh and Lindsay Kim made their Anteater debuts with a tough 7-6 (8-6) win over the UC San Diego duo. Closing out the day, the junior pairing of Asha Gidwani and Nour Khayat took down their opponent, 6-3.
