IRVINE, Calif. - UC Irvine men's tennis remained unbeaten at home with a 4-1 win over San Diego State Saturday at Anteater Tennis Stadium.

The 'Eaters improved to 3-1 on the young season with all three of their victories coming on their home court.

In doubles, SDSU (2-1) held the early advantage after a 6-4 triumph on court one, but
Andy Nguyen and
Hiroki Sakagawa answered at No. 2 where they defeated Chikaya Sato/Johannes Seeman, 6-4.
Eugenio Gonzalez/Bora Sengul then edged
Enrique Luque Rico and
Matthew Sah, 7-5, to give the Aztecs the doubles point.

UC Irvine turned the tables with a dominant performance in singles. Luque Rico set the tone with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Seeman at the top of the lineup.

Rithvik Krishna dispatched Eugenio Gonzalez, 6-4, 6-0, at the fourth position and Sakagawa followed with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Sato at No. 2 to put the Anteaters up, 3-1.
Lawee Sherif then took down Alexander Mandma, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 6 for the match-clinching point.

UCI will have a week off from competition before traveling to Northern California to face San Francisco (Feb. 10) and Santa Clara (Feb. 11).
