IRVINE, Calif. - Junior Anna Vogtmann has been named the Big West Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.
 
Vogtmann had a career-best third-place finish this past Saturday at the UC Riverside 6K Invitational. She made a big move over the final 2K of the UCR Ag/Ops Course, passing eight individuals to come in behind only a pair of Utah Valley runners.
 
In her first 6K of the year, the Folsom, California, native clocked in at 20:19.0. That currently stands as the best time in The Big West this season and is the third-fastest 6K of her career.
 
This is the first weekly award for Vogtmann and first for the Anteater women since Evelin Meza on Oct. 26, 2021.
