MALIBU, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's tennis team fell to 45th-ranked Pepperdine, 4-0, on the road Thursday at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.

The Waves (4-5) took two of three doubles matches for the early lead. After dropping a 6-3 decision at No. 3, the Anteaters pulled even as
Brandon Park and
Noah Zamora took down Daniel De Jonge/Eero Vasa, 6-4, at the top of the lineup. Park and Zamora improved to 3-0 as a duo.
The doubles point then came down to court two where
Ali Amiri and
Thomas Smart were locked in a tight battle with Maxi Homberg/Max Wuelfing. The 'Eaters went the distance, but it was the home team that pulled out the win in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (9-7).
Pepperdine kept the momentum in singles, winning in straight sets on courts four, two and five for the team victory.
Enrique Luque Rico held a 6-4, 3-3 lead over No. 124 Tim Zetivogel at No. 1 when the match was clinched.

UC Irvine (1-5) will look to bounce back tomorrow when it plays host to Boise State at Palisades Tennis Club in Newport Beach. First serve is set for 12 p.m.
