UC Irvine Drops Match To CSUN

Box Score NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – UC Irvine's competitive fight in singles play was not enough as they dropped 6-1 to CSUN.

All three UC Irvine doubles pairs battled in their respective matches but came up short as UC Davis swept to collect two points. The duo of Asha Gidwani and Amanda Perez were trailing 5-4 but walked away from the match unfinished as the Matadors had completed the sweep.

The Anteaters saw a shift in the singles positions, with everyone moving up one spot.

Carolyna Fowler earned the lone singles point for UCI at the No. 6 position in her debut as an individual. The freshman won 6-2 and 6-1 in the first and third sets.

In the third singles position, Amanda Perez earned the 7-6 (6) win in the first set of three. Her opponent won 6-1 in the second before winning the match in a tough 11-9 extra set. Larissa Teramura also played to three sets, earning the point in set two in the comeback from behind effort before falling 6-4 in the close extra match.
