IRVINE, Calif.—After a 15-day hiatus, UC Irvine women's tennis returns to action this week against Portland State (Feb. 5), Cal State LA (Feb. 9), and Sacramento State (Feb. 11).

- UCI Irvine earned the 7-0 win over William Jessup on Jan. 20
- Jenna Schlatter was the only Anteater to win their matches outright (6-0 at No. 1 doubles, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles)
- Asha Gidwani, Amanda Perez, Carolyna Fowler, Haily Huynh, and Larissa Teramura all made their Anteater debuts against the Warriors
- Nour Khayat and Cydney Yamamoto competed in singles exhibition, winning their contests 6-1 and 6-0, respectively
- Emily Fowler won 6-2 in No. 2 doubles with sister Carolyna
- Alyssia Fossorier took home the No. 2 singles win (6-0, 6-2) and No. 1 doubles win with partner Schlatter
- The all-time series record between UCI and Portland State is locked 1-1 with the last match-up happening in the 2022 season (L, 1-4)
- UCI and Cal State LA faced off the for the first-time last season and hold the 1-0 advantage (W, 4-3)
- The Anteaters and the Hornets last challenged each other in the 2018 season (L, 1-4), but are 8-6 all-time against Sacramento State
Portland State
Portland State comes into the dual match with a 3-2 overall record, earning wins over UC Davis (4-3), Seattle (5-2), and Linfield (7-0). The Anteaters and the Vikings faced each other at the CSUN Hidden Duals tournament in the fall.
Emily Rees and Capo Sanoner lead the way for the Vikings. Rees is a three-time Second Team All-Big Sky selection and Sanoner is a four-time Big Sky Player of the Week.
Portland State returns five players and has added two graduate transfers and one freshman to the experienced roster.

Cal State Los Angeles
Cal State LA will open their spring competition at Westmont on Feb. 3 and Biola on Feb. 6 before making the trip to Irvine.
The Golden Eagles competed in the ITA Fall Regional at Colorado Mesa and in the ITA Fall Circuit at Pomona-Pitzer for their fall competition slate.
Cal State LA returns four players and signed two transfers and a freshman.

Sacramento State
Sacramento State enters the week with a 1-1 record with tightly contested matches between Fresno State (L, 3-4) and San Jose State (W, 4-3). The Hornets will look to improve their record against the Academy of the Art, Fresno Pacific, and UC San Diego before they face the Anteaters.
The Hornets were picked to finish third in the Big Sky conference, their highest preseason finish since the 2019 season and received one first place vote. Tsveti Yotova, a Second Team All-Big Sky selection, leads Sac State.
Sacramento State returns four players and has brought in three newcomers.
