STOCKTON, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's tennis team fell to Nevada, 4-3, in a neutral-site match Saturday at Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.

For the second time in their last three outings, the Anteaters came up short in a contest that went down to the wire.

The 'Eaters (0-4) started strong, earning the hard-fought doubles point. After falling at No. 3, UCI won a tiebreaker at the top two spots in the lineup for the early advantage.
Making their debut as a tandem, junior

Â
Smart brought the Anteaters even with an impressive victory at No. 6 as he rebounded from an opening-set loss to defeat Zisswiller, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3.

The match was then decided on court one where Zamora had forced a third set, but was unable to complete the comeback as Pedro Liborio escaped with the 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win.
