ANTEATER MARKETPLACE
IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine Athletics announced the launch of the Anteater Marketplace, the official Name, Image & Likeness (NIL) marketplace for UC Irvine.
The agreement with Opendorse, which is the first of its kind in The Big West, implements a department wide technology that provides UC Irvine student-athletes across all 18 sports programs the opportunity to develop, create and build a personalized Opendorse profile. Each student-athlete profile is customized to highlight their interest, pursuits, and NIL opportunities.
In addition to the marketplace, UC Irvine Athletics will utilize Opendorse's all-in-one NIL platform, providing compliance, content, and education tools. Student-Athletes will have access to photos and video from competitions and practices, are able to disclose deals, access a library of learning material, produce tax documents, and collect payment.
"It is important to support and provide opportunities to our student-athletes to be successful," Athletic Director Paula Smith said. "The realm of NIL is new and ever-evolving and Opendorse is the right partner to help our student-athletes not only navigate but grow their personal brands."
The Anteater Marketplace will offer fans, supporters, and interested businesses a single, streamlined platform to access student-athlete profiles and pitch those they are interested in pursuing for NIL opportunities. They can use the same platform to securely book deals and provide payment to student-athletes.
The Opendorse marketplace is built on a decade of athlete marketing technology and experience. Opendorse has facilitated hundreds of thousands of NIL deals and endorsements with athletes at all levels of sports. The Opendorse marketplace is used by over 100,000 athletes to manage deals from pitch to payment, and even tax preparation.
