IRVINE, Calif. – Four UC Irvine women's volleyball players were honored by The Big West, highlighted by
Nicole Feliciano as Freshman of the Year.
Campbell Jensen,
Hunter Riedl and
Isabella Scarlett were named All-Big West honorable mention.
Feliciano is the third Anteater to earn the Freshman of the Year honor, joining Abby Marjama in 2018 and Kari Pestolesi in 2007. She was also named to the All-Freshman team, becoming the 25th Anteater to garner the accolade. The setter is ranked third in the Big West in set assists with a 7.83 average and 16
th in digs at 2.54 per set. Feliciano, who has totaled 13 double-doubles, was named Big West Freshman of the Week twice this season.
Jensen ranks fourth in the conference in digs per set 3.93 and is 12
th in aces with a 0.31 average. She fired a career-best five aces twice in 2023 which is tied for fifth most in the conference. The sophomore has recorded double-figure digs 23 times this year, including 20 or more eight times.
Riedl leads the Anteaters and is ninth in the Big West in kills with a 2.84 mark and 12
th in points at 3.10. The opposite has recorded kills in double figures 14 times and has led the Anteaters in kills on 14 occasions. She pounded a career-best 23 kills against Cal Poly, which is tied for fifth most this season among Big West players.
Scarlett is fifth in the Big West in hitting percentage at .302 and her .750 hitting performance against CSUN is seventh best in the Big West this year. The middle blocker has hit over .500 four times and totaled a career-high 15 kills versus New Mexico and rejected a career-high 7 total blocks versus Cal State Fullerton. The graduate student is averaging 2.01 kills and 0.77 blocks per set, which is 16
th best in the Big West. Â
