Noah Zamora won his qualifying singles match to advance to the main draw of the SoCal Intercollegiate Championships Thursday afternoon at USC's Marks Stadium.

Zamora, who received a first-round bye, faced the University of Washington's Heman Nama in the qualifying Round of 32. Nama defeated Kyle Sillman of SMU in straight sets earlier in the day.

Zamora won the first two games and never relinquished the lead as he took the opener 6-2. The second frame went back-and-forth, but Zamora finished strong to secure the 6-2, 6-4 victory. It was his second win over a Pac-12 opponent this fall.

Zamora will join teammate
Hiroki Sakagawa in the main draw which gets underway Friday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m.
