BOULDER CITY, Nevada – UC Irvine is tied for fifth place after the first round of The Clash at Boulder Creek Sunday at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.

The Anteaters recorded a score of 296 and are 13 shots behind tournament leader Long Beach State (283).

Sophomore Jasmine Chen paced UCI with a one-under par 71 and is tied for fourth place. She was one of eight players under par after the first 18 holes.

Junior Charlotte Ryoo posted a one-over 73 and is tied for 16th position. The 73 ties her season-best.

Senior Megan Yang and sophomore Kiana Briggs are tied for 47^th place with a first round of 76, while freshman Alyson Sor is tied of 62^nd with a score of 77. Playing as an individual, Chanelle Hwang shot an 84 and is 103^rd.

Chen, Briggs and Sor each recorded two birdies.

The tournament continues with 18 holes Monday and Tuesday beginning with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
