FULLERTON, Calif. - The UC Irvine women's cross country team finished third out of 12 teams Friday evening at the John Elders Titan Invite.

Hana Nip led the way with a top-15 showing. Nip covered the 5K Cal State Fullerton Campus Course in a personal-record 18:13.9 to place 14th overall and fourth among collegiate athletes. Junior
Diane Molina added a season-best 18:23.6 to come in 19th.

Freshman
Rebecca Bronstein was next across the line for the Anteaters, clocking a lifetime-best 18:52.3 (33rd). Junior
Laura Yontz was right on her heels in 34th with a PR 18:53.4.

Sophomore
Stella Knobbe (19:04.7) and junior
Sophia Zago (19:12.1) also established personal bests, while freshmen
Malia Leupold (19:10.6) and
Sarahy Lopez (19:28.5) notched season bests.

UC San Diego won the team title with 52 points, while Casey Monoszlay of Valor Track Club was the individual champion with a time of 16:59.1.

Up next for UCI is the 2023 Big West Championships on Friday, Oct. 27. The women's 6K is set for a 9:15 a.m. start at Blacklake Golf Resort in Nipomo, California.
