STOCKTON, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's golf team combined for a 1-under 287 in the second round of the Visit Stockton Invitational Tuesday at The Reserve at Spanos Park.

The Anteaters saw a seven-stroke improvement to move up one spot in the standings as they are 14th with a 36-hole total of 581 (294-287).

Loyola Marymount and Grand Canyon are tied for first at 23-under (553).

Sophomore
Jin Nakao continues to lead the 'Eaters as he jumped nine spots into a tie for 29th. Nakao carded a 1-under 71 on Tuesday for a two-round total of 143 (72-71). He had two birdies and eagled the par-5, 540-yard sixth hole.

Senior
Darien Zhao notched UCI's best round of the day with a 70. He made the turn at even-par before registering a pair of birdies over his final nine to come in at 2-under. Zhao, who climbed 23 spots on the leaderboard, is tied for 42nd (75-70).

Yaoting Zou also came in under par to move into a tie for 42nd (74-71).

Freshman
Jason Tang is tied for 62nd with a 36-hole score of 148 (73-75), while sophomore
Rei Harashima is tied for 85th (76-76). Harashima had his first eagle of the season on the sixth hole.

UC Irvine returns to The Reserve at Spanos Park tomorrow for the final round of the Visit Stockton Invitational. The Anteaters are paired with Nevada and host Pacific with their tee times starting at 8:24 a.m.
