  • The hosts were out of the gate first with the match's first three shots and first corner kick including one on target that Glo Hinojosa hauled in

  • Coming out of the half on top 1-0, the Rainbow Wahine went right back on the attack with multiple shots early in the half.
  • Hinojosa stepped up once again doubling her save total with stops in the 47th and 61st minutes
  • The Anteater defense went on lockdown not allowing anymore UH shots after that 61st-minute stop clinching the shutout and win
  • Hinojosa scored her third shutout of the year giving her 24 in her career along with her 31st win. Her four saves give her 36 this year and 197 in her career

UC Irvine finishes the week with three points and five in three Big West matches. They sit in a five-way tie for fifth place in the conference with many of the other squads having played more matches.

UCI is the only team in the Big West without a loss in conference play to this point at 1-0-2, and move to an even 4-4-3 overall record. The 'Eaters also scored their first away win of the year after two losses and two draws previously.

Next up, the squad returns to Orange County starting with a road match at Cal State Fullerton, Thursday, Oct. 5, before returning home to host UC Davis on October 8 for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff
