IRVINE, Calif. -- UC Irvine opposite William D'Arcy was named Big West Freshman of the Week.

The native of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia recorded a career-high three kills in a 3-0 sweep of Emmanuel College in the home opener at the Bren Events Center last week.

He hit .600, recording three kills on five swings without an error. His offensive performance helped UCI to a hit a season-high .433 (37-8-67), which is the fifth best mark in the Big West this season.

No. 7 UC Irvine will host No. 10 USC Wednesday (Jan. 18) at 7:00 p.m. in the Bren Events Center.
