· UC Irvine completed non-conference play with its lone match last week, a home 1-0 loss to Loyola Marymount. Cautions were dished out throughout the match with seven in total from the 15th to 83rd minutes. Four went to UCI adding to their total of 17 on the season. The only scoring came in the 38th minute as LMU headed a pass over the defense that was slotted home by Marco Byers-Mora.
· The Anteaters complete their rugged non-conference slate winless with one draw in nine matches. UCI's non-conference schedule rates as the ninth-strongest in the nation with eight of their nine opponents in the top 100 RPI and four in the top 50. It's the third season in head coach
Yossi Raz's five that UCI has had a strength of schedule among the 25 toughest and fourth time with four or more non-conference opponents with top 50 RPIs

Luke Pruter continues to keep matches close with six of UCI's eight losses by one goal. His 810 minutes rank as fifth-most in the nation with the 25th-most saves at 34. He averages 4.6 per start over his career with six matches this season with four or more saves

Agaton Pourshahidi claimed the team's first award earning Big West Freshman of the Week on September 19 following his first career goal scored at Vermont.
· The Big West enters conference play going 26-33-17. The Big West rates 16th out of 23 conference, just behind the WCC at 15th. Top RPIs are represented by UC Santa Barbara at 23, Sac State at 64, and Cal State Fullerton at 97 as the programs in the top 100, and all three leading with five wins and two draws apiece.
· Big West opens in Anteater Stadium Wednesday with old friends George Kuntz and Cal State Fullerton. He's added more Anteaters to his coaching staff with Keykeh Cardenas and Irving Garcia joining the staff. The Titans are 5-3-2 including a win over Cal, draw at USD, and losses at LMU and UCLA by one goal. Wednesday's match will be the last of five straight on the road. CSF is third in the nation with 25 goals and the nation's point leader, Sebastian Cruz, with 20. The Titans are helped by a 10-0 victory early in the season over NAIA school Life Pacific.
· UCI travels to Cal Poly for a Sunday evening match to end the week. The Mustangs are the only Big West school having a tougher season going 0-8-0 against the 13th-toughest schedule including five losses by 3 or more goals and one-goal losses to Saint Mary's and UCSB, and will play at UC Davis ahead of Sunday. Cal Poly has three goals with Drew Patterson's 14 shots leading without a goal. Three keepers have split time allowing an average of 3.75 goals per game and collecting 36 saves.
