DAVIS, Calif. --- UC Irvine women's soccer earned its second draw in has many Big West matches tying at Aggie Soccer Field with host UC Davis, 2-2, Thursday afternoon.
HIGH FLYING
The defenses were the story of the game in a 2-2 scoreline. Nobody put up a shot in the first 15 minutes of the match, but UC Davis (3-4-3, 0-1-1) found a way behind the Anteater backline.
In the 16th minute, the Aggies made their first shot count as Emma Vane connected with Lexi Trucco who finishing for a 1-0 UCD lead.
The 'Eaters (4-3-3, 0-0-2) got some good fortune on their side as the half wound down. In the 42nd minute,
Alex Jaquez made a run up the left wing and centered a ball.
Lilli Rask met it along with an Aggie defender as the ball popped up high and landed across the line after a misplay by the keeper Caeley Goldstein to knot everything up, 1-1.

ACTION PACKED.
With just one shot in the first half, UC Davis had made it count scoring in the 1-1 deadlock, and their second shot produced the same results.
A long punt ahead in the 54th minute again found Vane who lofted a high through ball on to Sarah Canavan who finished under the keeper to make it 2-1 UC Davis on just two shots for them.
The Anteaters were quick to respond this time around equalizing in the 62nd minute.
Amber Huff gathered the ball on a throw-in near the far touchline and her long throw found an unmarked
Destinee Manzo whose header floated behind her and settled nicely inside the far post to tie things back up, 2-2.

The remainder of the match saw the Anteaters with the most chances to score starting in the 71st minute when Huff's corner pinballed around the box before being cleared off the goalline by an Aggie defender.
Laila El Behery had a chance in the 84th minute to put it away receiving a ball in the middle of the box and firing, but Goldstein did just enough to tip the shot high and preserve the draw.

The 'Eaters got scoring contributions from defender
Lilli Rask knocking home her second goal of the season, and taking the scoring lead was Manzo with her fourth goal and 10th point.
Alex Jaquez provided an assist tying the team lead now with four and Huff also added one for her first point of the season and sixth career assist. Manzo also officially joined the 50-match club playing in No. 50 on Thursday to become the 90th 'Eater all-time.
Hinojosa and the defense limited UC Davis' chances to just five shots the whole match with the two on target going for goal. They also did not surrender a corner kick with UCI earning all seven.
UCI is now 4-3-3 overall with two points through two Big West matches as they finish their road trip going 1-1-2. Next up, the 'Eaters return home for a Sunday evening matchup with CSU Bakersfield September 25 at 6:00 p.m. in Anteater Stadium.
