LONG BEACH, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's track & field team continued its strong start to the season with three event wins Saturday at the Beach Opener.

Noah Holm led the way with an impressive 2022 debut. He was the shot put champion with a toss of 54-08, and established a personal-record and NCAA regional qualifying mark of 183-06 in the discus. Holm's PR moves him up to No. 4 in program history.

Kyle Tsu was also the runner-up in the shot put (53-07) and eighth in the discus (172-09), while
Jacob Hawkins added a ninth-place showing in both events, finishing with marks of 49-04.25 and 171-00, respectively.

Seth Enochs took fourth in the long jump at 23-03.25.

On the track, the Anteaters won the first and last events of the day.
Cameron Smith got UCI started in the steeplechase, finishing ahead of the pack in a personal-record 9:28.69. He topped his previous best by 11 seconds.

Miles Duncan,
Ty Sheridan,
Josh Farmer and
Malcolm Overbaugh closed out the meet with a 4x400 victory as the quartet clocked in at 3:14.59.

Overbaugh added top-10 showings in the 200m (3rd, 21.72) and 400m (6th, 49.81).
Carlo Reyes, who was making his collegiate debut, was also ninth in the 200m (22.32) and 10th in the 100m (10.86).

The 'Eaters had three top-10 finishers in the 110m hurdles. All-Big West performer
Jarel Sayles led the way in fifth at 14.66 seconds.
Drew Pickett wasn't far behind in seventh (14.82), and
Maxwell Jefferson was ninth (15.16).

Lukas Amare paced seven Anteaters in the 3000m where he came in sixth with a time of 8:35.62.
Miles Duncan was also eighth in the 800m (1:54.78).

UC Irvine will be back in action next weekend at the UCSB Invitational, March 10-11.
