SAN MARCOS, Texas - The UC Irvine men's track & field team kicked off its stay in the Lone Star State with the discus throw Thursday at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational.
 
Kyle Tsu led the Anteaters with a top-five finish as he came in fourth overall. Tsu had his best mark of the day on his sixth and final attempt (168-03).
 
Josh Farmer was also 29th (122-09), while Noah Holm fouled on his three attempts.
 
UCI is back in action tomorrow with a split squad at the Texas Relays and at UCLA's Bob Larsen Distance Invitational.
