UC Irvine Concludes MPSF Indoor Championships

The UC Irvine women's indoor track & field team wrapped up action at the MPSF Championships Saturday at The Podium.
 
Reyna Johnson had her second-top three finish of the meet, coming in third in the 60-meter hurdle final with a time of 8.87 seconds. Amari Fraser added an eighth-place showing (9.17).
 
Zani Meaders scored in the 400m, taking eighth overall with a season-best 57.52. Mia Marquez wasn't far behind in her first collegiate indoor 400m race, finishing ninth in 57.96 seconds. That mark puts her at No. 10 on UCI's all-time charts.
 
All three 'Eaters in the 800m established lifetime bests, led by Emma McCarthy, who crossed the finish line in 2:15.20, to move up to sixth in program history. Alexis Alexander also cracked the all-time top-10 at 2:17.85 (10th), while Jennifer Daly came in at 2:19.44.
 
Cathy Salazar-Gasca and Anna Vogtmann both ran sub-5 minute miles. Salazar-Gasca now ranks third in school history with a personal-record 4:58.82. Vogtmann is also fourth among UC Irvine's all-time leaders at 4:59.67.
 
Hannah Chau registered a season-best 9:58.57 in the 3000m, and Sameen Andar notched a personal-best 10:16.32.
 
Fraser, Meaders, Marquez and Daly combined for a third-place performance in the 4x400 relay (3:53.61).
 
In the field events, Deandra Tyler scored in the shot put, placing fifth overall. Tyler had a big PR of 46-00.5, improving her top mark by nearly four feet. She now ranks third in indoor program history.
 
Citlali Pichardo added a season-best 33-03.75 in the triple jump.
