BERKELEY, Calif. – No. 13 UC Irvine secured a 13-12 win over No. 17 Loyola Marymount on the second day of the MPSF Invitational, Saturday afternoon.

UCI improves to 6-4 on the season while LMU falls to 2-7 overall.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
> Senior Casey Lynton finished with a career-high six goals
> Dylan Patist and Zlatan Nikocevic netted two goals each
> Tyler Padua, Jake Liechty and Stewart Campbell each scored once
> Harrison Land played a complete game in goal, finishing with 10 saves
> LMU was led by Jonny Rimlinger with five goals
> The Anteaters outshot the Lions 38-34

QUARTER ONE
> UCI came out on the attack scoring five quick goals
> Padua found the back of the net at 4:48 before Lynton scored two-straight to give UCI a 3-2 lead at 2:59
> The Lions would tie things up, 3-3, at 2:32 before Nikocevic and Liechty fired in a goal each to make it 5-3

QUARTER TWO
> LMU would score at 6:03 before Nikocevic netted a goal at 5:22 to make it 6-4
> The teams exchanged back and forth goals as Lynton added two to keep the 'Eaters ahead 8-6 with 1:51 remaining
> The Lions scored with 1:04 left to make it 8-7 at the half

QUARTER THREE
> Lynton fired in an extraman goal at 6:00 before LMU scored two-straight to knot the game, 9-9, with 4:56 to play
> Lynton gave the 'Eaters a one-goal edge, 10-9, after finding the back of the net with 25 seconds remaining in the quarter

QUARTER FOUR
> LMU would tie things up, 10-10, with 7:42 remaining
> Patist scored two-straight for the Anteaters to give them a 10-12 advantage with 6:16 to play
> Campbell stretched the UCI lead, 13-10, after scoring on a powerplay at 5:19
> LMU added two goals down the stretch but it wasn't enough as UCI held on the 13-12 victory
