UC Irvine Partners With Game Plan

| By:
IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine has partnered with Game Plan in an effort to engage its student-athletes through various educational and developmental curricula. Through Game Plan, student-athletes are guided through courses on leadership, personal and professional development, sexual violence prevention, sports wagering, social media education, and much more.

"Student-athlete success is our top priority and Game Plan is a platform that will elevate our student-athlete experience in a wide spectrum of topics," said Athletic Director Paula Smith.

Alexis McDonald, Assistant Athletic Director, Academic & Student-Services, is excited about the benefits Game Plan provides to Anteater student-athletes.

"We are excited to partner with Game Plan for all student-athlete development planning and programming for our student-athletes," McDonald said. "We believe this will not only give our student-athletes an advantage as they engage in the programming, but also in the understanding of all of the resources there are as they are preparing academically, athletically and for life after athletics."

UC Irvine has approximately 380 student-athletes across 18 different sports.

"The University of California, Irvine has an excellent athletics program, and we are thrilled to welcome them to the Game Plan community to assist with the holistic development of Anteater student-athletes!" added Vin McCaffrey, CEO Game Plan.

Another platform that will aid in student-athlete education and management of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) opportunities is COMPASS.

In conjunction with the Big West Conference, the COMPASS platform provides the administrative infrastructure needed to empower UCI student-athletes to maximize opportunities while ensuring compliance with the policies and guidelines currently governing NIL.

COMPASS provides student-athletes with NIL education, deal disclosure and compliance monitoring tools in one easy-to-use platform. The COMPASS platform allows for flexibility to adapt to NIL guidelines or laws as they evolve over time, ensuring student-athletes can stay up to date in this quickly evolving era and remain compliant in their eligibility requirements.
