CLAREMONT, Calif. - The 13th-ranked UC Irvine men's water polo team finished the weekend with another win, taking down Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 13-6, at Axelrood Aquatics Center.

UCI improved to 4-1, while CMS dropped to 3-5.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

QUARTER ONE

> The Anteaters proceeded to go up 2-0 after Chiponis scored following one of Lynton's game-high eight steals.
> CMS then got on the board, converting on a power play.

> Padua and Cass also connected in the final minutes as UCI went on top, 5-2, at the end of the first period.

> Both teams were held scoreless through the first four minutes of the second quarter.
> UC Irvine broke through at the 3:38 mark with Cass taking advantage of a 6-on-5 situation.
> The 'Eaters and Stags then traded goals over the final two minutes with the visitors holding a 7-3 advantage at the break.

> Nikocevic started the second-half scoring after a UCI timeout with 3:01 remaining in the third frame.
> The two squads each scored twice before the end of the quarter.

> CMS struck first in the final period, closing the gap to four.
> Padua responded just 17 seconds later, and Patist's second goal of the afternoon made it, 12-6, with 4:16 remaining.
> Baxter accounted for the final tally of the game, connecting on a penalty shot.
