LA VERNE, Calif. - The 13th-ranked UC Irvine men's water polo team opened the Inland Empire Classic with a 25-7 rout of La Verne Saturday afternoon at Las Flores Pool.

UCI (3-1) led wire-to-wire, racing out to a 4-0 lead and never looking back. The Anteaters' 25 goals were a season high as they had six players score multiple times.

Casey Lynton established a season high in goals, scoring five times.

QUARTER ONE

> La Verne (0-4) then got on the board, converting a penalty shot of its own with 1:20 remaining in the period.
