IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine women's tennis battled in several close doubles and singles matches but ultimately fell, 4-0, to Cal State Fullerton in the 2021 Big West Tournament quarterfinals, Thursday afternoon at the Great Park.
 
UCI concludes its 2020-21 campaign with a 2-11 overall record.
 
Doubles were highlighted by Emily Fowler and Dasee Carter who earned a 6-4 victory over YuSeung Suh and Natalie Duffy on court three. CSUF secured a 6-4 win on court one as the point came down to a close battle on court two. Arianna Tilbury and Jenna Schlatter fell just short, 7-5, against Jadie Acidera and Camila Garcia.
 
Fowler continued her great play into singles, with a 6-1 win in the first set and a 6-5 lead in set two before the match was called. She played at No. 5 against Suh.
 
Alyssia Fossorier was also in a battle with Acidera, 7-6 (7-5), 1-5 on court three before it went unfinished. Jessica Tsukiji's No. 1 match went unfinished, 3-6, 5-6, against Misaki Kobayashi.
 
The Titans were able to clinch the match with wins on courts four, six, and two, respectively.
 
UCI will graduate one senior, Arianna Tilbury, and return 11 players for the 2021-22 season.
