SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – UC Irvine dropped a 7-0 decision to UC Santa Barbara in a Big West Conference match, Saturday in Santa Barbara.

UCI falls to 2-8 on the season and 2-4 in conference action. UCSB improves to 6-3 overall and 5-0 in the Big West.

The match started with UCSB winning the doubles point with victories on courts 2 and 3. Jessica Tsukiji and Jenna Schlatter led Elizaveta Volodko/Lise Sentenac. 5-2 (15-0) when the point was clinched.

The Gauchos delivered the match winning point on court six as Marta Gonzalez defeated Dana Mackensen, 6-1, 6-2.

Emily Fowler and Dasee Carter both battled to three sets in their respective singles matches. At No. 4, Fowler won the first set, 6-4, before falling 6-3, 11-9, to Sentenac. Carter dropped the first set before battling to a 6-3 win in set two. She dropped the third, 10-6.
