SAN DIEGO - The UC Irvine men's tennis team (3-2)Â won its second-straight match in dominant fashion, defeating San Diego State, 4-0, Sunday afternoon at the Aztec Tennis Center.

Bruce Man-Son-Hing won their second in a row with a 6-2 triumph over Aaro Pollanen/Johannes Seeman, 6-2, at the top of the lineup.

Mark Peneff and freshman
Thomas Smart followed with a 6-2 victory against Rafael Gonzalez Almazan/Ignacio Martinez at No. 2 to give the 'Eaters a 1-0 lead. It was the first doubles win for the tandem of Peneff and Smart.

Sophomore
Matthew Sah carried UCI's momentum into singles play as he dispatched Victor Castro, 6-3, 6-1, on court four. Sah has won his last three matches and is tied for the team lead with a 4-1 record.

Hoffmann, who also improved to 4-1 at No. 1 singles, took care of business once again, topping Seeman, 7-6 (8-6), 6-2. Junior
Mike Mkrtchian then delivered the final blow with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Judson Blair at the fifth position.

Both Peneff and sophomore
Ali Amiri were leading in their respective matches when UC Irvine clinched the match.
The Aztecs, who were coming off a pair of victories over UC San Diego, fell to 2-3 on the season.

• UC Irvine has won the doubles point in each of its last two matches.

Bruce Man-Son-Hing continued his ascent in the school record books.
• He moved into a tie for 21st among UCI's all-time doubles win leaders (46).
• This was the Anteaters' first win over SDSU since 2011 (six meetings).
