STANFORD, Calif. ā No. 14 UC Irvine's slow second half led to a 17-7 defeat at No. 4 Stanford on a rainy, windy Sunday afternoon.
The Anteaters and Cardinal were tied, 1-1, after the first quarter and UCI only trailed by one, 5-4, at the half before Stanford outscored the 'Eaters 12-3 in the second half to earn the win.
UCI falls to 7-10 on the season while Stanford improves to 15-4 overall.

> Stanford's Walker Seymour netted a goal at 3:29 before Patist answered at 3:08 to make it, 4-4
> Abramson scored on an extraman opportunity with 33 seconds remaining to give the Cardinal a 5-4 edge at the half
Quarter Three
> Stanford used a 4-0 scoring run to start the third quarter and go up, 10-4
> Chiponis fired in a goal on a powerplay before the Cardinal scored twice more to take a 12-5 lead into the final frame
Quarter Four
> Stanford opened the final quarter scoring three-consecutive goals to go up, 15-5
> UCI's Nikocevic and Ilic each fired in a goal in the final eight minutes for the Cardinal walked away with the 17-7 victory
