MALIBU, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's tennis team closed out its time at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships Sunday at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.

The Anteaters wrapped up the weekend by winning four of their five extra singles matches. Junior
Ali Amiri cruised to a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Cal Poly's Colter Smith. Freshman
Rithvik Krishna added an impressive straight-set win, defeating Mariano Argote of Grand Canyon, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5).

Noah Zamora also outlasted Kilian Maitre of Hawai'i, 5-7, 6-3, 11-9, while senior
Mike Mkrtchian earned a 6-0, ret., triumph over Hiroki Sakagawa (Arizona).

UC Irvine has one more tournament on its fall slate, traveling to Los Angeles for the LMU Invitational, Nov. 12-14.
