STOCKTON, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's golf team concluded the first round of the Visit Stockton Invitational Thursday at the Stockton Golf & Country Club.
 
The Anteaters combined for an opening-round score of 290 (+6) to tie for 11th with Temple. Washington State leads the field by two strokes at 16-under 268.
 
Sophomore Darien Zhao and redshirt freshman Johnny Bai both carded a 1-over 72 to tie for 40th. Zhao had a team-best four birdies.
 
Sophomore Kolbe Irei and senior Nathan Irwin also shot a 73 (+2) to tie for 52nd, while sophomore Henry Fitzhugh is tied for 75th at 5-over 76.
 
UC Irvine returns to action tomorrow for the second day of the Visit Stockton Invitational.
