HONOLULU, Hawaii – Outside hitter Joel Schneidmiller put away a season-high in kills as No. 4 UC Irvine beat Queens 3-1 (25-19, 21-25, 25-10, 25-16) at the Outrigger Hotels & Resorts Invitational at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Schneidmiller hit .618 with 23 kills on 34 attempts and just two errors. The junior had a team-high seven digs plus two aces and three block assists.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
>Outside hitter JB Kam had 10 kills, two aces and five digs
>Middle blockers Scott Stadick and Aiden Wolf-Nielsen each had nine kills, a career-best for Wolf-Nielsen. Stadick recorded five blocks and Wolf-Nielsen had three

TURNING POINTS
FIRST SET
>UCI scored five straight to jump out to a 11-7 lead
>The Royals would score four of their own to knot the score at 13-13
>A pair of Joel Schneidmiller kills gave UCI some separation, 19-17
>A block and kill by Scott Stadick was followed by an ace from Akhil Tangutur put the Anteaters up 23-18

>Three kills and an Anteater attack error gave Queens the 8-4 lead
