
Sienna Lyford records Top 10 Finish At Battle At Old Works

ANACONDA, Mont. – UC Irvine finished sixth at the Battle at Old Works, behind sophomore Sienna Lyford's top 10 finish.
Lyford finished in a tie for 10th in the first tournament of the season with a three round score of 226 (75-73-78). It is her first career top-10 performance.
Cameron Lee was tied for 20th with a 54-hole total of 229 (77-74-78) followed by Madison Riggs, who was tied for 24th with a score of 230 (75-76-79). Freshman Gabby Gonzalez had her best round of the tournament, posting a 78 Tuesday and ending in 50th position at 243 (85-80-78).
The Anteaters, playing with in colder conditions Tuesday at the Old Works Golf Course, shot a 313 on the final round and ended in sixth place with a two-day total of 928 (312-303-313).
UCI led the tournament field in Par 3 scoring (+13, 3.27), recording 24 birdies over the three rounds.
Big West foe Cal Poly won the tournament with a score of 885. Eastern Washington's Madalyn Ardueser fired a final round 69 to capture medalist honors (71-70-69-210).
Next, UCI travels to the Coeur d'Alene Resort Collegiate Sept. 23-24 hosted by Gonzaga at the Coeur d'Alene Resort.
