IRVINE, Calif. -- The ninth annual Scott Brooks Golf Invitational, benefiting student-athlete scholarships at UC Irvine, will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17 at the Resort at Pelican Hill.
Once again, an online auction will accompany the golf, with bidding beginning today.
The online auction, which can be found at
ucirvinesports.com/auction, features a variety of items highlighted by:
>Golf for Four at Pelican Hill Golf Course, a world-class golf experience with 270-degree Pacific Ocean views and two Tom Fazio designed ocean courses.
>Road trip with the UCI Men's Basketball team. The Anteaters won the Big West Conference Tournament in 2019 and made their second appearance in the NCAA Tournament, making history with a first round win over Kansas State.
>LA Angels Suite package for a 2020 game date to be mutually agreed upon. You'll enjoy one of the best game viewing experiences, while watching the Angels' young stars like Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani.
>Keston Hiura autographed baseball. Former Anteater, Keston Hiura, was drafted in the first round (No. 9 overall) by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2017 and played in the 2018 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game during MLB All-Star Week. Hiura made his major league debut on May 14, 2019 and is currently the starting second baseman for the Brewers.

All proceeds from the tournament directly benefit UC Irvine's 18 NCAA Division I sport programs and 350+ student-athletes.

UCI student-athletes from each program participate in the tournament, greeting players on every hole of the course as well as at the post-round reception and auction.
Last year, UCI had two teams advance to the second round of NCAA Championships, three Big West regular season titles, seven All-Americans, five conference Players of the Year, two Newcomers of the Year, and three nationally ranked teams.

Brooks enters his 10th season as a NBA head coach and the third at the helm of the Washington Wizards.
As a player, he was an NBA Champion with the Houston Rockets in 1994 and was named NBA Head Coach of the Year in 2010. The former guard has been the head coach of the All-Star Game twice.
Brooks played in 56 career games at UCI from 1985-87 and currently ranks sixth in steals (123) and 11
th in three-pointers made (142) all-time.
The guard poured in 43 points in the opening night of the Bren Events Center on Jan. 8, 1987, the second most points scored by an Anteater player.
