UCI Drops Big West Opener to Hawaii

IRVINE, Calif. – The UC Irvine women's tennis team dropped their Big West Conference opener to Hawaii, 6-1, Friday at Anteater Tennis Stadium.
UCI moves to 7-3 on the season while UH improves to 3-1.
ABOUT THE MATCH
Doubles
> UCI's No. 3 team of Arianna Tilbury and Alyssia Fossorier got the Anteaters off to a good start with a 6-4 win over Sophia Storch and Roxanne Resma
> Hawaii would win the next two to capture the doubles point
Singles
> Tilbury highlighted UCI's singles play with a hard fought win on court six over UH's Alzbeta Houbova, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0
> At No. 5 , Fossorier took her match into three sets but ultimately fell to Resma, 6-4, 4-6, 1-10
> The match was clinched on court four when the 'Bows Michelle Pits defeated Jessica Tsukiji, 6-2, 6-2
