Box Score PHOENIX, Ariz. – UC Irvine recorded its second sweep of the day, downing Grand Canyon, 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-21) at Antelope Gymnasium.

UCI improves to 10-2 overall, winning their fourth straight match. GCU is 6-5 on the year and drops its first match at home (2-1).

>UCI opened the second set with two blocks by Stadick and Schneidmiller to start 3-0

>GCU's Alex Shmelev had three straight aces to break an 11-11 tie and give the Lopes a 14-11 lead
>A kill by Austin Wilmot in the middle was followed by two aces by Apfelbach to move the Anteaters back in front 17-16
>A dump in the left corner by Chakravorti was followed by a huge solo block by Wilmot, 19-17
>Two Schneidmiller kills made it 21-18 and a kill by Apfelbach ended it, 25-21
