Box Score FULLERTON, Calif. – UC Irvine had several career-highs, but it was not enough in a 3-1 loss (25-22, 25-18, 20-25, 25-23) at Cal State Fullerton in Titan Gym Saturday.

Sophomore outside hitter Abby Marjama posted a double-double with a career-high 22 kills and 15 digs. Freshman Joy Umeh also had a career-high 10 kills, while freshman setter Kelly Negron tallied a personal-best 56 set assists. Junior libero Chloe Owens recorded a career-high 21 digs and freshman outside hitter Carrissa MacDonald had a career-high 10 digs.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
>Middle blocker Makayla Wolfe added 11 kills and two blocks
>CSF was led by Julia Crawford's 12 kills and 13 digs
>The Titans out-hit the Anteaters .221-.145 as well as led in blocking 8-3

TURNING POINTS
FIRST SET
>After UCI called timeout down 13-9, the Anteaters used two kills by Abby Marjama and one by Joy Umeh to close within 13-12
>The Titans would answer with a 5-1 run to regain control 18-13
>UCI would score three unanswered to stay close (20-18) and force a CSF timeout
>UCI could not catch up and Fullerton would go on to win 25-22

SECOND SET
>CSF would score six straight to break open the set, 17-12
>UCI would not recover and lose the set 25-18

THIRD SET
>Cal State Fullerton would start the set with a 9-3 advantage
>UCI would chip away and used a Titan error and a kill by Marjama to take an 18-16 lead
>CSF would rally scoring four of the next five points, three on UCI errors to move in front 20-19
>Out of a timeout, Makayla Wolfe would record a kill and ace followed by a Marjama kill to give the Anteaters the 22-20 advantage
>UCI would end the set with the final six points, capped by a Onye Ofoegbu solo block, 25-20

FOURTH SET
>The Titans went on a 4-0 run to open an 8-4 lead
>A kill by Wolfe and a CSF error narrowed the deficit to 9-8, but four consecutive Anteater attack errors  gave the Titans the 13-8 lead
>The Anteaters would rally to knot the score at 14-14. The run included a kill and ace by Marjama, two kills by Umeh and an ace by Kelly Negron
> A block, kill and ace by CSF gave The Titans an 18-15 cushion
>UCI would close to 18-17 and 20-19 before a block by Wolfe and Kiani Stanton tied the set at 20s
>Following a Titan error and kill, UCI would suffer two attack errors to give Fullerton the 23-21 lead
>CSF would win the set 25-23 and the match, 3-1
